The American Foundation for Bulgaria announces the opening of the 20th edition of the Student Film Project Funding Competition — an initiative that has supported young filmmakers in Bulgaria for more than two decades.
The competition is open to full-time students enrolled in Film and Television Directing and Animation programs.
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- CV;
- screenplay;
- director’s statement;
- screenplay synopsis;
- project budget.
Applicants may also include additional materials or recommendation letters that they believe would support their application.
The application deadline is June 30, 2026.

The competition results will be published on the website and social media channels of the America for Bulgaria Foundation at the end of July.
